About Me

I reside in the great town of Dahlonega, GA where I am volunteer firefighter and full time I work for a geotechnical engineering company. I have two boys that have taken over most of my workbench with their own projects as well as try to steal my own and a wife that does not understand any of us. I began building models as a steady hobby when I was hit head on by a impaired driver and out of work for a year. Needing something to do besides watch Judge Judy all day I picked up building models once again and have been hooked ever since. It is a great hobby that has allowed me to become friends with folks from around the world. Best of all it combines my love of history with something visual. Wanting somewhere to show off what I was building I started my first web page.  ( Want a good chuckle? It's still online if you want to see it. ) Since then I have pretty much self taught myself to build sites that are better. Along the way I created The Scale Firehouse which has grown from a basic forum style site to a full fledge web site with hundreds of members.

And why the screen name of Lizardqing?  There's no real meaning behind it. It all began with a roommate way back in the early days of the internet that put me on his AOL account as that. It has just stuck ever since. That and when you have a screen name that in 10 years has only been taken on a web site once, it's easy to remember what you use on sites without clicking the I forget link.
